The TD Bank branch at 235 Greenwich Ave. was robbed Sunday afternoon, after a man held up a teller and made off with cash.
A lone man entered the bank at approximately 1:30 p.m. and presented the teller with a note demanding cash, according to police. The teller complied, and the suspect left with an undetermined amount of money. No one was injured, police said.
The suspect is still at large. He is a heavy-set, white male in his 50s, about 5 feet 6 inches, police said. He is “very pale,” has a “pointy nose,” blue eyes and a “big belly,” police said. He was clean-shaven and was wearing a black skull cap, a black zip-up hoodie, blue jeans and black low-top laced sneakers, police said.
After the robbery, police cordoned off the branch with tape and deployed personnel to watch the area.
Sunday’s robbery was the second during the past month in Greenwich. On January 30, a woman robbed at gunpoint the Greenwich Bank & Trust branch on East Putnam Avenue. She is still at large.
